There have been a number of different mayors of Freetown, Sierra Leone and some have not necessarily been from Freetown, Sierra Leone.

• Sir Samuel Lewis- Krio mayor of Freetown from 1865
• William John Campbell- Nigerian born mayor during the 19th century.
• Emmanuel Cummings- Krio mayor of Freetown during the 19th century
• John Henry Malamah Thomas-mayor of Freetown from 1904 to 1912
• Eustace Henry Taylor Cummings- Krio mayor of Freetown from 1948–1954
• Siaka Stevens- mayor of Freetown and later on president of Sierra Leone
• Winstanley Bankole Johnson, current mayor since July 2004
